I learned from doing research that most even though the U.S. is the land of opportunity and with hard work many things are possible. But I also learned that sometimes hard work isn't enough and especially for immigrants, they can be the hardest workers, but the fact that they are immigrants puts a target on their backs. I learned that some of these people have no choice but to live in harsh communities and when it comes to things like voting and work opportunities, they have the shorter end of the stick.   Youtube Video:  How smugglers seduce Central American migrants with the 'American Dream' - YouTube This video caught attention because it is a bit different from all the other articles, and videos I have provided already. This video focuses on how smugglers persuade migrants to make the journey to the U.S. by telling them it will be an easy trip. The reality is that most of the journeys are cut short by authorities and the journey is long. I chose to include this video because it shows what some people are willing to do just to have a chance at a better life here. They are willing to take the risk because the payoff could be worth it. Unfortunately for most, the dream continues to be a dream and not reality.
